Impact of recent news coverage of gun related issues

I recently heard a news story on the radio talking about a study on police shootings. That is, they studied incidents where police officers shot with a gun in crimes I also noticed that the news was carrying more stories like rising crime rates, increases in poverty, etc.

The result would be an increase in paranoia and fear amongst the general population. This would lead to a feeling of "we must do something about this problem!" mentality. With elections so close, it's seems that this is going towards a direction of more new gun legislation. :mad:
 
Yes, we must do something about the problem, but too many people are idiots that can't see the fact that almost always this evil is done by people already in the legal system - either on probation, parol, or out on bail awaiting trial on another felony.
 
We recently had a 16 year old crook killed by another 16 year old thug killed while in the act of robbing a house. Luckilly the local media are pretty wise on gun ownership, but the State Media are making a deal out of it. Both boys have had P O's since the 6th grade and were the 'Nice' kids in the family.
