A "Police Trapper"!!! 
That's good. Can you/would you cut down a holster for a 5.5" 1862? If so, the Holster I got from Dell for mine is a beauty. Does not take much work to cut one short, sew it back up with some waxed thread? Or is that not acceptable? Anyhow, that's what I would do.

I got one for a Remington 1863 from a leather smith on ETSY several years ago. He was partially disabled but did a great job on my holster. It was cheap too.
I searched through my bookmarks but can't find it. However, check out this guy's stuff .. also not expensive.
