I have 2 S&W's that I'd like to ask for information about from the vast knowledge that is THR. (I can NOT, for some reason, get on the S&W site) and I am not picture capable and for that I'm sorry. Hence, the long descriptions.

I would like an approximate 'birthday' and a ball park value figure.

(They WILL NOT be sold!)

#1. This is a big ole N-frame PRE-29 .44 Mag. Barrel is 8 3/8" long, pinned and recessed chambers. Adjustable white outline rear sight with red insert front. The barrel rib is quite wide with narrow groves down the center. Side plate has 3 screws plus one more under the fore-frame in front of the trigger guard.

It comes in a wooden (mahogany?) presentation box with a fitted, green interior with all the cleaning tools.

It is mechanically perfect with a sweeeet trigger pull and NO, dings, scrapes, etc and just a tiny bit of bluing loss at the end of the barrel on each side and has a turn line.

Serial number on the butt is "S 171090"

#2: This one is a model 27-2 in .357 Mag. Barrel is tapered, 8 3/8" long, pinned with recessed chambers. Back sight is adjustable without the white outline and the front does not have an insert. There is a narrow barrel rib that is grooved and the topstrap is checkered on top.

Side plate has 3 screws and there is no other in front. It is in a blue box with the wrapping paper inside.

Mechanically PERFECT with NO flaws in the finish ANYWERE. Again, sweeet trigger pull! You have to work hard to get the light JUST RIGHT to see the start of a turn line. Finish is >99%!

Serial number is "N 362995".

Thanks for any info you can provide for me.

description like that absent pictures are just plain cruel, I guess you know that
all I can say is, be proud of 'em

cannot fairly say what worth, because those qualify as collectibles, and the price is whatever bidders will pay, very subjective.. but Old Fuff and others will surely be along shortly
me, I would mebbe try to contact Jim Supica or Collectors Firearms in Houston, on guns like that
