Interesting Ebaby auction

I remember an eBay auction awhile back where the guy was selling a couple Glock 17 full capacity (17 round) magazines. He didn't say how much they hold and just said they were factory G17 mags. He had pictures but blurred them out really bad but you could tell by the holes in the magazine that it wasn't a 10 rounder.

Well....

Early last week I listed a 30 round SKS mag, and listed it as such. Mentioned it was "High Capacity" Well, about 5 hours before the auction was to close, ebay pulled it and cancelled it. I then got an email about what I was selling was against policy, blah blah blah.

The next morning, I listed the exact item, did not mention the amount of rounds it held and it made it through without any hitch.

They specifically said nothing more than 10 rounds. Now, the new rule is to the affect that it cannot be sold online if it has anything to do with the Mean Ugly list of Assault Weapons in California.

Anyway, I got my money, and shipped the item. It did ship to another person in Texas, so totally legal. I would not have shipped it to a place like California though.

Haha ebay! :neener:

Ebay is too stupid to recognize these facts:

The lister says:

Purchased in 1983 (pre AWB) of course.
Holds 10 rounds (plus some more, not listed)

This guy has tricky wording...good for him! :D

I have bought a gaggle of FAL mags on ebay that were 20rndrs. Sold some 30rnd AR mags. Your ad simply says "These will hold ten rnds..." The gunnies figure it out while the bottom-feeders continue blissfully on, confident in their control.

That's very common on Ebay. I've bought a few "10 round" AR-15 magazines that hold 30 rounds with no problem. :D

About Ebay

Ebay uses a Bot' to search for a list of words and if it finds them flags them for their dumb humans. Very easy to get around this and I see it all the time....

notice the phrase "holds ten rounds" So does a beta-C drum

they said nothing about 'capacity' in that blurb

I can see ebay totaly banning anything with the word "gun" mentioned in it in the near future, they are way to submissive to threts from anyone.

and the fact that i've heard from reliable sources that they have VPC & MMM employees, which isn't much of a surprise...

I've seen some listed as "Magazine part #30. As per Ebay regulations it only holds 10 rounds"
And the picture clearly shows a full capacity magazine. I love it when people stick Ebay...

Saw one auction where a guy was selling a shotgun barrel and stock. Check his other auctions and there was the reciever. Yet another had the trigger group up for sale. Win all three, get a gun.

Sisco:

Could you really get away with listing the receiver...that should be an FFL only item. Did he say it had to go to FFL?

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking.....that guy could have been in big trouble. :what:

The auction said nothing about it. I emailed him to point out this fact but he never replied. All three auctions ended with different bidders.

I've seen quite a few recievers on Ebay

Especially with older SXS's where someone not knowledgable wouldn't recognize it as the reciever. Easy enough to make it look like 2 different people bought seperate parts, but they usually don't bother. I recently lost my bid for a set of barrels for a 311 to the same guy who bought the reciever. Not sure if it was sent thru an FFL or not, but the guy ended up with a 311 for about 175 bucks.
