interesting US history of the .32 ACP

So I've been watching the HBO series Boardwalk Empire (good show BTW). One of the main characters mentioned he carries a Colt 1903. I had never heard of it so I had to look it up. Turns out it’s a .32 ACP hammerless "pocket" pistol (if a 33 oz gun can be a pocket pistol). Variants of which were used by our military and also popular with the gangster crowd of the 1920/30's.

I didn't know the U.S. military every issued .32 ACP. There are always more interesting gun factoids out there to find.
