This is something that is long overdue since the invention of the Internet and the online NICS check.

Sponsored by: Rep. Scalise, Steve [R-LA-1]

Amends the federal criminal code to:
(1) allow [FFLs] to sell [...] any firearm [...] to a resident of a state [any state]; and
(2) eliminate the requirement that a licensee must conduct business at a gun show only in the state that is specified on the licensee's license.

Basically non-local FFLs can sell directly to you without the musical-FFL nonsense that they have to go though, in addition to letting FFLs sell any firearm to a resident of any state.

Currently, if you wish to buy a handgun while traveling out of state, the firearm must be shipped back to an FFL in YOUR state for 4473'ing. Rifles and shotguns can be possessed immediately.

On 6/1 it was Referred to the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations. And thats about the only action its seen since introduction.

This subcommittee is populated by:

Rep. Chabot (202) 225-2216
Rep. Jackson Lee (202) 225-3816
Rep. Forbes 202-225-6365
Rep. Pierluisi 202-225-2615
Rep. Poe 202-225-6565
Rep. Chu 202-225-5464
Rep. Chaffetz 202-225-7751
Rep. Gutierrez 202-225-8203
Rep. Gowdy 202-225-6030
Rep. Bass 202-225-7084
Rep. Labrador 202-225-6611
Rep. Richmond 202-225-6636
Rep. Buck 202-225-4676
Rep. Bishop 202-225-0453

How do we get this party started?

Suggested Phone Script: (open to suggestions..)
Hello, my name is [name] and I am calling to ask Rep. [name] to support HR2246, which is a commonsense measure to reform the way firearms are sold through licensed dealers to residents of different states.

Thank you for your time.

I called Forbes local office and a nice lady listened politely and said the chief of staff would call me back.
I followedwith an email for the paper trail.

Added phone numbers for subcommittee members and suggested phone script.
Anyone have any suggested improvements for the phone script?

[and since we have a plan of action can a mod move this from planning?]
