Hello everyone,I look forward to being a contributing member.I've read numerous threads here doing different gun research so I decided it was time to sign up.I've included pictures of my new (to me) 1969 L579 Sako Forester Deluxe 243.I bought it from the second owner. It was originally purchased in Germany.I've not fired it yet and according to the gentleman I purchased it from,it was never fired by either owner.
I'm about to take her hunting for the first time as soon as I mount a suitable scope.I will probably go with a Leupold light weight model.I just have to find somewhere I can try a few with different mounts to fit it properly behind the iron sights.
I sort of have a love, hate relationship with Sako.I'm on my second model 75 which is a long story.I'm hoping my second Sako will restore full confidence.I was looking for what I call a real gun,old school with deep bluing and nice wood. It's hard to find anything except cheap plastic now days, but I digress. Here are the pictures.I hope you enjoy my amature attempt.
