This is not a solicitation for a job offer, I'm just surveying options.

Can someone work in the gun industry with these credentials?

Double Major in Business and Entrepreneurship from Baylor University. Minor in Spanish.

MBA from Rice University.

~5 years of experience at a Fortune 500 company.

Basically, this person doesn't have any mechanical skills and is probably over-educated for a line position. What are their options if they want to become a "merchant of doom"

LaRue most definitely does.... And they have gone after military contracts, as well as after the LE market. They also sponsor competitions.... Plenty of places there, I'm just not sure how often a vacancy appears.

Magpul might have some new openings since they are going to be operating out of multiple states though...

That's a fine thoroughbred, sir - but we need another Clydesdale to join the team...

You might be far better off going to work for Ford, making a lot of money, and enjoying firearms as a hobby.

You're kidding, right? The industry would be lucky to have you. An enthusiast with the smarts to run a business? Anything in management from finance to marketing to project management.

BUT with that said, the industry is limited to several big fishes and getting in will be tough, regardless of pedigree. Getting in at the ground level will be a waste of your talent. Maybe get into M&A work and buy 'em instead. ;)

One more thing - the "big players" in the industry aren't really that big. S&W and Ruger have less than a billion in revenues. Colt has 1.6€ in revenue which is roughly 2 Billion US. Decent size, but not huge. You'd make more money elsewhere.
