Is this an authentic WWII Remington 31?

Could someone who knows these things (or who has a copy of Canfield) please tell if they think this is an authnetic WWII military issue Remington 12.

It appears to have the correct markings for a real US Model 31 in that serial number range. If it's an original riot gun, the barrel should be "cyl" marked with matching serial number. But the compensator is probably an add on, and if the barrel had to be altered to accept it, that's going to lower the collector value of the gun.
