I have a chance to buy 1000 Hornady Zombie Max .224 40gr bullets for $90.00. Are these V Max bullets with a green polymer tip? If they aren't V Max bullets, what are they? Has anybody shot any of these bullets? Thanks for any info.

The zombie max are exactly the same except the color of the tips and are green only for the marketing scheme which is very successful so if you can buy in bulk in the z-max then do so your just buying the marketing green tip instead of red.

And use a magic-marker to color them Red if you just gotta have V-Max to keep your friends from teasing you about your Zombie bullets.

Bought some in 243 and can't tell any difference between the 2 and they shot very well. So I'm going to stock up on some more before they are gone.

Why do we keep running more then one thread with the same info at the same time?

Last week my local dealer bought 4000 of those bullets to put on the table of the gun show he was doing. I went along to help and thought it was very funny only 1000 actually made it to the table. The owner, his employee and I all took 1000 for ourselves. Hey, at only $60 a box of 500 they are a great buy for a very good bullet. That will hold me over for a good while for use in a .223 bolt action rifle.

Oh yeah, exactly the same bullets but for the color of the polymer tip...

BTW, this is a parallel thread you might want to read:

I just bought 1000 of them for a rockchuck hunt I am going to do in a couple weeks. I will let you know how they do.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to add 2000 .223's and 1000 6mm to my anti-Obamanation survival kit. The 6mm 58gr VMax bullets are death lasers in my Savage Model-12 in .243.

Jake, I just received 1000 of your .223 HP Match 50gr bullets. I'm heading out to the reloading shed and load up some .223's and some .22-250s. I'm going to the range tommorow after work so I'll let you know how they shoot. Good customer service and fast shipping.
