So my Enfields are multiplying. I just added a .308 Ishy/Gibbs 2A1 to the family. The action isn't as smooth as my No. 4, and the trigger doesn't feel like the standard military two stage; clean break, but heavy.

Anyway, the reciever looks/feels gummy. So I go to strip it; but when I bring the bolt back I can't clear the (for lack of knowing what it's actually called) reciever "bridge" because there's a pin/lever in the rail that the extractor block rides on that limits it's rearward travel. Now on my No. 4 there's a similiar pin/lever, only larger, and you just press it down and the bolt comes back, extractor block rotates, bolt assembly comes out. I assumed that the Ishy worked the same. But that pin doen't move. I've tried everything short of a hammer and cold chisel. And none of what I can find online even references that pin. Most just say, pull the bolt all the back, "snap it" upright, then pull it out. And again, I physically can't pull back enough to clear the reciever bridge while that pin's there.

What's the deal? Do I have some strange variation of Enfield or am I doing something wrong? Please help.
