Isn't this interesting? PART 2

loaded pistol lying on a table unsecured, finger on the triger, hitting self in head with pistol during recoil.....

Antiganda? Or a crude attempt at humor?

Some people wanted to see it & make up their own minds on it. Before I removed the link on the other thread, I had at least 1 person say they thought it was funny.

I gotta stick by V4Vendetta with this one.

No, I didn't watch the link, I usually don't open them. However, he caught some serious flak from members of this board when he took the link off his previous post. He told you some found it offensive and ignorant. You watched it anyway.

V4, while I didn't open the link, only you know if it was worthwhile to you. That's what we all post here, stuff that's worthwhile to us. If someone doesn't like it, a Senior Chief told me to remember a four letter word. Starts with F, ends with M. PM sent due to the "Art's Grandma" rule and common courtesy.

The person who made that video is NOT anti-gun, he is taking the p*ss out of those who believe and repeat the "OMFGX!!11 gUNS KiL ppL LaWl!!1" argument.

Ratliff, allow me to introduce you to my friends Satire and Irony. Satire is the ridicule of an idea by pointing out its flaws in a humorous way. Irony is humor that uses the opposite meaning of what is intended to convey a point. (Hint: The point of the video was to point out the absurdity of "guns kill people.

I think the video is a poor misguided attempt at making the statement "the gun is to blame" look ridiculous. While it may or may not accomplish this end, the poor unsafe handling and easy accessibility of the firearm do more damage than good to the pro-gun side.

While I disagree with the message of the video I still stand these peoples right to make the video and your right to post the video.

That may very well be the case, but it is a bit over-the-top and can easily be mis-construed or mis-represented. But I would give him points fro trying.

Well it is certainly on topic for THR, even it the video itself was pretty stupid (no matter what the intended message).

I think the word on the "main character's" T-shirt tells it all: ILLINOIS*

*No offense intended to those of you stuck there.

Well when I watched that, what I gathered was there were several things wrong with that picture.

First, why was a firearm just laying out in the open like that where an unauthorized person, namely an inept juvenile, could retrieve it?

Second, let's just say I doubt very much that the creator of this piece did much in the way of technical research. The technique and simulated recoil reactions employed were not even passable.

Third, 17 seconds into the film when the firearm is picked up, the finger is right there on the trigger and there is no attempt made to inspect if a round is chambered or not.

However, the creator of this thing does make a point: these actions are the fault of the character in the video, not the inanimate object.

I sincerely doubt that the creator thought of all this however. A better epilogue would be: Guns make you irresponsible, unsafe, inept, go crazy, and kill people or something to that effect. But I think I give it too much credit.

The concept is not fundamentally flawed, but the production values are so low that any comic effect is lost, and so is the message.

It did not offend me in the least. And does anybody else think that they need to clean their house? Kind of messy if you ask me.:p

V4, you done good, both times.
Sorry for the flak you've taken over this.
You didn't and don't deserve it.

My position on the topic.
Fud.

I heard there was an AR-15 sitting in a corner somewhere under constant live video surveillance to make sure it doesn't get up and shoot someone on its own. I think that was funnier than this video, but I gotta tell you... the kid slamming the pistol (which I think was some kind of airsoft or BB replica) into his head from the recoil was roffleav.gif

I realize now that if you go through life without oiffending anyone, you have wasted your life.
You have learned much grasshopper

I for one got it.

If you pick up a gun you will start hearing evil rock and roll music in your head instead of wholesome old TV theme songs and will then kill your friend who will in turn shoot you back when he returns in his R&R induced zombie state and since you became so entrenched in the head banger cult in life you will incorporate it into your posthumous shooting style

It was obvious use of satire against the inane ideology of the antigun crowd, I don't see why all the animosity
