I believe that Israel is doing what a reasonable and prudent civilized nation would do. I find it interesting how all of these countries attacked Israel a while ago saying that they were going to drive them into the sea. Then Israel defends itself and takes over parts of those nearby countries and those people say, "Please give us our lands back," as they chant "Kill Jews!" in their nearby towns. I find it amusing how people to Israel's north were firing missiles at Israel and even their school children from the Golan Heights, then Israel takes over the Golan Heights and those people say, "Please give us back the Golan Heights (so that we can have that strategic place to shoot at you from)." As proof that Israel was only protecting itself, remember that the leader of Egypt was Israel's first neighbor to recognize them as a sovereign nation and he even visited Israel as a token of good will. Then Israel signed a treaty with Egypt and gave them back the Sinai Peninsula. If Israel just wanted more land or had a Hitler attitude, think would Hitler give back territory to those who didn't fight him (ex. Denmark)? Some other surrounding nations around Israel then acknowledged them and then peace treaties were signed and then mysteriously Israel stopped fighting them; it's amazing how that happens. Then to the north groups from Lebanon for years have crossed into "Israeli soil" and captured Israeli citizens and soldiers. Then Israel would demand them back and the north refused, hmmm, wonder why they then used force to get them back. We can say the same for the Hamas grabbing those people and taking them to the Gaza Strip. Then some say that Israel should give back their prisoners to get back certain people. What if terrorists captured Americans and then told the UN and international community that they would give them back if we handed over Saddam Hussein and then captured al-Qaeda, would we respond how Israel is or would we act how Hamas demands Israel respond? Palestinians and other groups won't recognize Israel as a sovereign nation and they chant "Kill Jews" and they wonder why Israel won't trust them! How would the U.S. trust people who were blowing them up and chanting "Kill Americans"? (Such as some groups in Iraq and how our military responds to it and of course those extremists point out how we accidentally killed one of their children that they intentionally placed in front of our artillery)
Why can't we just let Israel and the Jews have their land? When you look at a globe, the nation of Israel is smaller than a lot of U.S. states. Then look at the globe to see how much of the earth is ruled by Islamic nations. Some say that there are Christian Palestinians. Well, then look at how much of the globe is ruled by Christians and Muslims together! Also, why don't we see all of these Christian nations sending over soldiers to blow up Israeli civilians and places like the Muslim groups do? That's one of the various reasons why Osama bin Laden attacked the World Trade Center and U.S. embassies in the first place, because he thinks we're helping them! See how much more civilized other people are.
Also, the Jews were there originally. And yes, the nation of Israel was created after WWII. It's been a long time since modern Israel was created and even the nearby places they secured for security's sake. Most of the Palestinians alive weren't even around back then. So Israel is the most recent group to live there and was there originally before various groups of people conquered the area thousands of years ago. If some want to complain to the UN about this, then the Jews should get Medina also. Arab Jews were there before the Muslims came in and slaughtered them, took over the place, and forced many of the Jewish women to be their concubines while their children and the leftover women were sold as slaves! Look into the history of Islam and their prophet Muhammad in Medina (back then it was Yathrib) where the Jews refused to join them and Muhammad had all the Jewish men line up by a trench so that he could whack off their heads. He then picked from the Jewish women to be his concubines. One woman screamed when she saw her dead husband, so Muhammad said that she was a devil woman and she was one of the ones sold as slaves, while the other Jewish woman (Rayhana) he picked didn't scream so she was kept as one of Muhammad's concubines. I wonder why Israel thinks that some groups may be dangerous, especially when they get into groups chanting "Kill Jews"!
