I remember the past, when I was under 18 and just browsed the picture threads, the gun websites like Modern Firearms, etc. I wanted everything I saw. I wanted an AK, an AR, A daewoo, a g3, fal, hk93, aug, m249, m60e4, pkm, rpd, ar10, sig542, m96, and on and on and on.

When I started to experience firearms first hand and started purchasing, I realized that I was not going to buy every single firearm I ever wanted, so I decided to limit myself, started to standardize, started to appreciate the idea of diversity through uniformity, all because I finally was able to stop being attracted to a firearm because of my emotions, or the weapons history and what not.

Now, I feel as if I've inadvertently went further into this way of thinking. It's like I don't care anymore. I don't care about all the new stuff. I don't care about what this weapon has, or what that one has. I feel as if I should just exploit one platform, just because it has the best availability of parts, best prices, best ergonomics, etc.

This is no way to enjoy a hobby! :banghead:

Now you are growing up and gaining some wisdom! You find one or two platforms that work for you and spend the bulk of your money on ammo and training. Which is why the old saying is usually true 'Beware the man who only owns one gun---because he probably knows how to use it!'.
