I remember the past, when I was under 18 and just browsed the picture threads, the gun websites like Modern Firearms, etc. I wanted everything I saw. I wanted an AK, an AR, A daewoo, a g3, fal, hk93, aug, m249, m60e4, pkm, rpd, ar10, sig542, m96, and on and on and on.
When I started to experience firearms first hand and started purchasing, I realized that I was not going to buy every single firearm I ever wanted, so I decided to limit myself, started to standardize, started to appreciate the idea of diversity through uniformity, all because I finally was able to stop being attracted to a firearm because of my emotions, or the weapons history and what not.
Now, I feel as if I've inadvertently went further into this way of thinking. It's like I don't care anymore. I don't care about all the new stuff. I don't care about what this weapon has, or what that one has. I feel as if I should just exploit one platform, just because it has the best availability of parts, best prices, best ergonomics, etc.
This is no way to enjoy a hobby! :banghead:
