...a habit of buying a knife for my birthday over the last few years. Last year I picked up a Spyderco Spyderfly with VG10 blade. It's a pretty cool knife, and pretty unique as far a butterflies go. I carry it every once in a while, but with a blade over 4 inches and a 6 inch handle it's not what I'd call sheep friendly. ;) This year I picked up a CRKT Voodoo. It's an assist open that uses a torsion bar and cam combo. The blade is 154CM and was scary sharp out of the box. What I think is really cool is that it was designed by Pat Crawford and he just lives about 40 minutes down. Plus it's put together by the fine folks of Tennessee.

Here a link that has all the specs and such....

I know a lot of knife "enthusiast" would snob there nose and anything made by CRKT, but personally I've been attracted to a lot of their designs. I would have to say that the Voodoo is the best sample of CRKT that I've personally held. Mainly because of the quality of steel of steel that was used. The dog-bone design makes a real comfortable EDC. The only issue that I've had was after about three weeks of carry I noticed the blade had lost that rock-solid lock up that it had when I first got it. The cause of the newly developed play was that the pivot screw had backed out a little, but a little thread lock took care of that. I hope that maybe this will be the start of a new CRKT up shelf knife series.

BTW- I picked it up for $67 shipped on ebay.
