So I just picked this up from my local gun shop for a couple bills.

Iver Johnson - Viking 67-S - 8 shot 22 break action revolver.

A774 appears to be the serial - Does anyone know the date of manufacture? I’m coming up short on finding information.

Does anyone else have one? If so, post a picture!

I think it will do fine for what it is!

I once had a 6-inch barrel target version of the Viking, but I didn't have it long. The cylinder did not index properly, and nobody wanted to work on it, so I sold it with a full explanation of the problem. Got nickels and dimes for it. I bought it because it was so strange looking. It's as distinctive as the Whitney Wolverine, in its own peculiar way. IMO, anyway.

Somewhere I read that Warren Center, of Thompson/Center Contender fame, was involved in the design of the Viking. Not his finest hour, I think. I mean, it's a top-break pistol without automatic extraction. To me, that throws away one of the advantanges of being a top-break, but I guess people at the time thought manual extraction = Colt and S&W, while automatic extraction = cheap old pawn shop guns.
