Sigh.

No, we're screwed.

OK, a few days ago I had a long talk with Sheriff Craver of Mendocino County. Based on what I knew already and my conversation with him, I'm of the opinion he is THE most pro-RKBA sheriff in the state. He handles his entire county on a shall-issue basis, he makes NO legal mistakes at all, he outright encourages CCW. Turns out he's a former FFL who had to give that up when the gun laws of this state got just too crazy, even though 99% or so of his clientel was other cops.

I won't recount the entire conversation but let me just say I *like* this dude.

But he won't get all the other sheriffs and the Cal-DOJ pissed off at him via this program. Per him, he can't...it would be immoral to do so because it would cripple too much other legitimate law enforcement programs should he become that much of a pariah.

Dammit. :banghead: I don't blame him though.

We're going to have to launch a "CCW PRAR war" in Nov. through Feb. after the Public Records Act grows some teeth via SCA1 in November...the goal is to get so much dirt put together we get Arnold on our side.

So would this

Preclude THR/TFL and friends from chipping in to "buy" a small town, install a chief of police and do it ourselves?

Dammit! A judge did something REALLY stupid and unexpected yesterday. I'm still gag-ordered...for maybe another week tops. Damn. I've been sitting on something HUGE due to STUPID court rules since freakin' NOVEMBER, it's driving me slightly buggy.

Would you believe it's litigation involving the California AG's Office...and they're almost certainly going to be my CO-PLAINTIFFS?!

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

We need a smiley that's got a gag across his mouth. 'Cuz that's where I'm at.

I did send an email to Isleton and suggest they set up a time share condo. That way the chief of police could issue CCWs. :)

I didn't get a response.:(

This week...I hope :(.

Should be a court hearing...Tuesday I think?

What'll come out of that will be a surprise, but only very distantly related to CCW. BUT...there IS a connection.

It makes me sad because the PRK was my home for 17 years.. Basically, if you can import bumbling idiots, they've done it..

Drug dealing, doped up City Counsel people, yep got them there, don't need to go to DC for that...

It's just truly sad what the PRK has become.. It's basically Russia with good weather.

Jim, I was thinking about everybody moving to Bodaga Bay, and secceeding from the rest of California..

not a bad idea

Jim, I was thinking about everybody moving to Bodaga Bay, and secceeding from the rest of California..

Get a 1000 gunnies to move into a small town and elect a friendly Sherrif or strt our own PD

A small boonie-town with small, affordable plots of land. And a post office that has a service of forwarding on all mail to another address. So, I could be a "resident" of the town (have DL address, bills, etc. sent there), and have all mail forwarded to the address I have to live at while I'm working.

Hmmmmm... :)

Wonder if Ballarat is still a town...

Oh, how about Trona.. that should be a cheap place.. Heck, I'd almost be tempted to move.. after a few days you don't even notice the smell of sulfer ;-)

If I develop this planned community / time share, would be be illegal if I gave first dibs on slots to to my High Road buddies?

;)

Everything of value is illegal in California Sven.. you should know that!

However, I would GUESS that discrimination in housing would be illegal no matter what... but if your timeshare was only advertised or made known in ONE place... well that should be up to you no?

Perhaps the government will try to close the "Sven loophole" someday and force businesses to advertise diversely.. until then....

Just thinking.... I could easily relocate my business address to this little community. Wonder if legal residency is a requirement or if you can just legally have your business centered there. Since I can actually DO my business via any pc I can work anywhere.

Wonder if so many 'absent residents' would be noticed ;)

Wonder what the legal deffinition of resident is.

Wonder what the legal definition of 'resident business' is.

Anyone wana make a killling off a Mailboxes Etc type store?

Hmmm
