Well had quite the delema 300+ burdan primed 8mm mauser ammo. Click bang.. Pulled the bullets on a few put in 40gr of imr 4064 still no go then tryed a few no bullet or powder fired all I got was a lil smoke no bang. Yep all the primers are bad.
So I dug around and found 3 8mm cases. So I dug some more 19 280 REM 5 7x57 and 100 30-06 got out a tubing cutter trimmer and die set reformed, all but 3 spected out. Banged 120 bad rounds apart used the powder and bullets got some nice looking ammo. And maybe it will shoot.
But now I have 120 never fired burdan primed brass cases wonder how long I will keep them around before they go to the recycler.
Thanx for all the good info around this.

Id just cycle all the pulled cases through your gun and fire off the primers and then put them in the scrap bin for future lead trades :)

Cycling all those cases through a Mauser with no bullets in them just to pop the primers will be a pain in the rear. With that controlled feed action and no bullet they just don't line up so well. If you're going to do so, do yourself a favor and don't load up the magazine. Just put one into the magazine at a time. And I find it easiest if you only put about the rear 1/3 of the casings into the front of the magazine. You'll have to shimmy it around to get it to chamber.
