I bought this thing right when I graduated in 1988. It was a nasty beat up cosmoline soaked mess for $75 I'm not sure why it has the blade bayonet instead of the spike. The gunshop told me it showed up from the importer like that.

All the numbers matched and it looked like this rifle had been well used because much of the bluing had worn off, the stock had lots of wear and a putty repair near the handguard.

After refinishing and days of cleaning this turned into a good reliable shooter. One of the first dumb things I did was break the safety by trying to disassemble the gun with the safety off.

It was still a good shooter except now the trigger pull was terrible.

Since I was told by three gunsmiths the original trigger group could not be
repaired I finally broke down and bought a new one from AIM for $39.99.

PBHome71 was kind and generous enough to send me his old receiver cover scope mount. So I put that on too.

can you post a close up of the characters on the receiver (from the 2nd pic)? I'm always interested in the characters up there.

Thanks.
