Picked up a Star Model B Super 9mm P.

I have seen, on a search of the internet, that some extended, compensated barrels have been sent over here...does anyone know where these might be available?

Also noticed that the chamber isn't really set up for any type of hollowpoint or wadcutter/semi-wadcutter type ammo...can the feed ramp be "modified" and still be safe?

Lastly...is there another pistol that can "donate" parts to the Star as far as customization goes? Sights? Grips? Can I use a skeletonized trigger and hammer from a 1911?

Thanks!

That should make an interesting pistol to experiment with. If they ever come in cheap again in surplus guns I likely will pick one up. I would like to play with conversion to a longer flavor of 9mm. A B in 9mm Largo would suit my purposes nicely.

The trigger on my PD .45 is swung from the top, and only has one shaft going to the sear. It actually is a better trigger than on my Colt.

Don't know anything that readily interchanges partswise.
All teh Stars have pivoted triggers, sights can be made to fit without too much trouble.
That said, the Stars will respond to most 1911 tweaks. I consider the trigger/sear setup and safety superior to the 1911 in mnay cases.

Notmany if any parts interchange between the Star and 1911. I had a Star B (no Super) and it was a really nice gun for being made in 1945 for the German Police. It was not Nazi marked but it was made for the non-military police. It feed FMJs just fine which is all I ever shot in it. It was as accurate as most modern pistols and the bore was about worn out. It also shot very softly with little recoil.

All in all, it was still a good shooter after 60 years of service. It looked like it may have been in use all those 60 years as well. I have been impressed by every Star I have owned. I now only owned 3 Stars but I have owned many others. If I got a chance to pick up a SUper B for a good price, I would be all over it my friend.
