I just got back from my Mother's funeral. One of things that I have inherited is a little handgun. My first thought was an RG14 so I would have a pair of them. When I went to clear the handgun, after it had been cleared by my little brother the day before, I unloaded these little 1/2 shells with what looked like old grease inside the shell. Snap caps maybe, or just blanks. The cylinder has 8 chambers that look like 22 cal on the back but look smaller on the barrel side. It has pearl handles and a logo RTS enclosed with a circle, with model 22 engraved on the side above the trigger. I think this is probably a starter pistol or just a blank gun. Anyone have any ideas what this might be?

BTW, It would be just like my parents to think they could scare off a home intruder with a starter's gun. They lived in NY.

I also got called Paranoid by my little sister. She's from New Jersey! But there's hope, she just moved to Arizona.

I'd say from the description that you have just inherited a .22 caliber tear gas revolver. You used to see them A LOT back in the 80's but I don't know if anyone still sells them or not. Obviously, they weren't very effective (the automatics were slightly better than the revolvers with the latter's cylinder gap) AND you also stood a better shot (no pun intended) of being shot by someone thinking it was a real gun. Keep it for sentimental value and use the RG or a good can of OC.

Also, thanks for your service! It is appreciated!

Take Care,
Mike

Just doing a basic Google search...wouldn't happen to be this one would it?
