240gr HP-XTP and 24.0gr of H110 is my deer load.

300gr HP-XTP and 20.0gr of H110 is my black bear load, but works great on deer too.

Both are the max loads in the Hornady Manual.

I currently use the same two bullets, but with Blue Dot. 15.0gr under the 240XTP, and 12.0gr under the 300XTP. A bit of a handfull, even with a 7.5" barrel. A lot more loads per pound of powder than with H110, too.

The 240 is my deer load, and the 300 is a nice hog load.

When working up Blue Dot go SLOW and in very small increments as you approach the top loads. Blue Dot goes nasty in a HURRY as pressures get high. I have had some very strong performing loads with very good accuracy with it. Cold is another place where Blue Dot lacks a little, but in the arctics of Tuck-san AZ it really shouldn't be an issue at all.

I did notice a bit of reaction to cold weather and Blue Dot. Had some sitting in the truck overnight at 32 degrees and when I shot them the next morning the numbers were a bit different than usual.

I'm gonna use Unique first with the hard cast as well as the XTP's.

Blue dot is squirrely in cold weather.
Esp. max loads or compressed loads.
Use magnum primers below freezing.
