I am thinking of purchasing a Kahr E9 pistol from a dealer and I can't find any information on the gun. It seems to be a budget model as it is priced at 400.00 and is similar to the P9 in dimensions. It is NIB and the Kahr web site doesn't have any info on the gun. Does anyone know when this model was produced and if there are any particular short comings or reasons to stay away from the E9? Thanks.

I have an E-9 and it's my ccw. The E-9 is the same gun as a K-9, except two basic differences. First being the front sight being plastic and glued in place, K-9's is dovetail mounted.
Second is milling and polishing of the slide. In other words the K-9 is better looking.
I have found the E-9 to be accurate, 5 out of 9 in the A zone, 3 in the C zone and 1 flier, at 25 yards on an IPSC target. Oh, and mine is 7 years old.
They also have a trigger that makes a Glocks look, well try them both and you'll see.
If ya get a good price for one and it's in good shape, get it. Since you said it is NIB, first thing to do is polish the feed ramp because some Kahrs have a coating on the ramp, polish it off. Then get some ball ammo and put about 300 rounds through it to break it in. After that you'll have a great carry.
Good luck.
