The first KAHR I bought was the little CW9. Bought it used in 99.9% condition for $325. Great pistol for CCW. Light, reliable and shoots where it's pointed. The owner of the gun shop I frequent also had a K40 in 99.9% condition that had not had 100 rounds put through it. The original owner, a lady, kept limp wristing it and of course it wasn't reliable. I bought this one several weeks later with box and papers for $500. Shoots very well...suppose to be a higher end pistol. What I find a bit disconcerting is that the back of the slide and cover plate protrude over the frame enough to make it look funny and potentially abrade your thumb when you draw from concealment. Anyone else noticed this? Does KAHR consider this a defect? Will they correct this condition if I send it to them?

A small amount of variance can be considered normal in a Kahr. They often exhibit a certain amount of loose QC. In my experience it should be almost unnoticable and is seen less in the steel frames. How does the gun work, does it feed and fire OK? If not, then contact Kahr and explain your concerns.

It may settle in after a few hundred rounds. A little overhang, assuming its going fully into battery, is really a non issue though.

Here's a stock pic of a K40. If yours protrudes in the back I wouldn't accept it.

I just looked at my K9 and the slide is darn near flush with the frame.
