Okay I posted earlier.. I got to shot my friend's .40 this last week. Loved it! I've not been one really for semi-automatic handguns, but oh there's something so slick about being able to just drop that magazine and slam another one home and keep goin!! So I told my darling husband that I wanted a semi-automatic....I felt one that feels So good, the Kahr K9. I have a friend here in town that adores hers and is going to take me out to shoot it so I can feel the power.

What can I expect on price for this particular weapon? It feels so good without firing it. It fits my tiny little girly, want a pink gun- hand sooooo nicely!!!!!!!! :D But I need to figure out my budget.

Thanks!
Heather

Welcome to The High Road. The Kahr K9 is a fine gun, you have good taste, and as far as guns go somewhat expensive taste at that. ;) The MSRP on a K9 is $815-1000 depending on variant. Of course the percentage of MSRP you will actually pay is going to differ from area to area. Another less expensive option is going with a P9 (polymer frame instead of steel) which subtracts about $100 on MSRP. Finally the most affordable option is to find a used one, which can lower the price by half or more.

As far as shooting the K9, if you've shot and enjoyed a .40 then the steel frame Kahr in 9mm is going to be a real joy to shoot with soft recoil. As far as pink, they don't offer it with that option, but there might be someone who makes pink grips for the K series aftermarket.

You're going about it the right way, however. The first secret to gun shopping is to try what you think you might want and buy what you enjoy shooting. You might want to keep shooting different guns, there might be one you like even better than the Kahr, fine gun that it is. After you figure out your budget and intended uses, come back and we'll be happy to help you further.

You do have good taste. The K9 is thin, accurate, reliable and fits the hand well. The only thing I don't care for is the long trigger reset.

Anyway, new ones are a little steep for me, but good used ones are available for $400-500.

Great gun, I liked my SS K9 so much that I gave it to my father to be his SD pistol.

If you can manage that long DA trigger pull, then consider the CW40. I bought one for less than $400 NIB. Great grip shape, especially if you have small hands, and very easy to conceal. The only major problem for me was that I couldn't get any consistency with the trigger pull; 2 shots in the black, the other 4 ,somewhere else. Also available as the CW9, the reason for the lower price is that the slide isn't as nicely detailed as the more expensive models, and it comes with only one magazine. Great choice if your looking for an extremely concealable yet controllable gun in a serious caliber.
