Greetings everyone,

For those of you who own a Kahr PM9 (or possibly any of the P series of Kahr pistols), is it 'normal' for the left side of the dust cover to be bowed and have a warped appearance? Of course, I didn't notice it whatsoever until I field stripped it to clean it, and now I can't 'not' see it!! :cuss:

I Googled and found next to nothing on it so I call on those who are in the know and own Kahrs to help me out. Any assistance is appreciated.

Thank you!!

Yeah, my PM-40 has that condition. I queried the tech folks at Kahr and they said it was a cosmetic issue only and would not affect function/firing. So far, it hasn't affected my shooting of it. I don't like it, but it seemed they deemed it to be a non-issue and were not inclined to replace the frame.

Thanks for your replies. I called Kahr this morning and got the same answer; purely aesthetical and will not affect the functioning of the pistol but it does bother me. Oh well. On a good note, I took it out for a test run last night and it had zero malfunctions which was comforting. Once I got used to the sights and trigger, I was spot on with my shots.

RDF, I'm in Silverdale often to see my sister and brother in law. Holler if you ever want to go shooting.

Mine does have a slightly bowed appearance, only visible on the exterior with the slide off. There are steel rails inside the dust cover, which should be straight and parallel.

PM9 here. Got the same issue. It does bother me a bit but as much as I hate it, this is a disposable pistol. I expect it to die every five years if I carry it daily. Thats just me though...
