Make a phone call. 1-877-579-6757. Alternate numbers 785-296-6240 785-296-3232

All of you Kansasans who are in favor of HB 2798 (CCW) need to hit these numbers HARD and let the Governor know your position on the matter NOW. Regardless of what you may hear in the press, Her Office IS recieving calls and making notes of your opinions on the matter.

CALL NOW! Be nice....Have I said that before? :D

Just got off the phone with Nick.Asked him very politely to ask the governor to trust the people of Kansas.Got some air time on WIBW before work this afternoon talking about it too.We shall see what happens.....

The legislature's web site now says that the bill was "Reengrossed" on 4/5/04. Does anybody know what that means?

Besides the Governess you should be calling your reps, especially the Democrats and urge an override vote.

Sisco has a point. We should also be calling our Representatives and Senators, thanking those who voted for the bill, and encouraging them to vote for an override if the Governor vetos the bill.

We also need to pick up six (6) additional votes in the house, if it comes to that, so if your representatives voted against, continue to try to convince them to change their vote to support the bill if there is an override vote.

Also, it would be a good idea to contact the House Sponser, Candy Ruff, and encourage her to work for an override vote if the bill is vetoed... This from The Kansas City Star on 4/3/04:
http://www.wmsa.net/news/KCStar/kcs_0403_Sebelius vows veto CCW.htm
“We haven't decided one way or the other whether to try to override a veto,†said Rep. Candy Ruff, a Leavenworth Democrat and the bill's main supporter in the House. “There will be too many Democrats who will jump off. There will be too many of them who voted for the bill who will not cross the governor. It's that simple.â€
If the Governor Does Veto, we will need an override vote even if it fails so we will know who our TRUE FRIENDS are come November. I understand that ALL 125 seats in the House and ALL 40 seats in the Senate are up for election in November, can anyone confirm that? :D
