If you haven't noticed the Black Man With A Gun site is temporarily down. I've been scraping by for a decade as the minority rep for the pro gun side so when the bill collectors came and turned off my lights, I just lit a candle. The site is down but I am not out. When I do get the money to get it going again, it will return.
Last year I went on a hiatus and didn't attend many of the events folks have grown accustomed to seeing/ hearing me speak at. It was a time of reflection. I bought a guitar, played the blues, and watched my grass grow. Friends told folks in my absence that I was on vacation. In my mind had basically quit. So what if I was a lighthouse for people of color? So what if I founded the Tenth Cavalry Gun Club? So what if I had fans in Holland, Australia, England, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, New Zealand, Nigeria, and Canada? I found out that Mr. Fame and Ms. Fortune aren't married and are really just good friends. You can have one without the other pretty easy.
And finally, I figured out that there are really only about 463 sane people that care about the future of this country and most are on this site. These 463 people belong to every group that has membership, have more than one states' CCW permit and influence the rest of the country. Then there are about 46.3 malcontents that bounce from site to site, and come to our rallies that hate just about everything that is in place, agitate and infuriate the rest of us. What you may not know is that this is their place in our life; they are the flies and mosquitoes on the food chain. I believe they have a purpose, G*d only knows.
