I just picked up a really good deal, I found a Kershaw D2 Outcast on eBay for $55.00. With shipping included I paid $63.00 for this great knife, I'd say I got a real bargain. As of right now the seller lists that he has 3 left for this price. This knife comes new with the kydex sheath but without the box or paperwork, I got mine 3 days after I won the auction and sent the payment. If you're interested, go to eBay.com and look up item # 140330970076.

I'll post pics a little later.

This isn't going to make you very happy, but I picked up 2 flawless examples (one for me, one for my pops for Father's Day) at the Kershaw factory sale last month for $37 each. They had a table full of them at that price. Sheath was included, but no box or papers, etc. Technically, I guess they're "factory seconds" though even an extremely close inspection wouldn't let on.

As far as a field test, I was up at my parent's house for Father's Day and used mine to chop down a 2" thick maple tree (it needed removal anyway, and this was more fun than a chainsaw). Within 5 or 6 blows, the tree was split in half and bent over. Another 5 or 6 blows finished it off. It chopped right through like a very sharp hatchet and sent huge chunks of bright white maple flying through the June air. A brief inspection of the blade afterwards showed no signs of wear, and the Outcast went on to shave big wet slabs of bark off of said maple tree. Still sharp as a razor.

This is a great tool at a great price, even if you were to pay full retail. The sheath is well made and seems to allow for a few different carry options. The coating on the blade looks and feels to be extremely corrosion resistant. Mine now resides in my truck, and will be my first line of defense against roving maple saplings and angry Pacific Northwest rainforest foliage. ;)

Au contraire, mon frer, I'm quite happy. Anytime a fellow knifenut can make a great score I consider it a good thing. Like I've posted several times elsewhere, I'm a Busse nut through and through, but I still appreciate other great quality knives. I consider this (especially considering the price) to be great. Yours (due solely to the price) is even greater. Good job.
