I picked up a copy of the new Kopel - Halbrook - Korwin book titled
simply, "Supreme Court Gun Cases" at the last CrossRoads of the West gun
show here in Phoenix (signed by Mr. Korwin, of course).

This book is nearly 700 pages of court cases from state to federal to US
Supreme Court as well as essays, footnotes, tables and indexes. And
that's just to page 87, where I am now.

Turns out there is more to the Supreme Court than just US v Miller, or
Cruikshank, or Presser or even Dred Scott. Lot's more. One chapter
discusses 35 cases with the largest chunk from just a few years before
the end of the 19th Century to the second largest chunk from, guess
what? -- The Rehnquist Court. My best count is that there are over 90
court cases in total discussed in the book.

This is a reference book that sometimes reads like a novel (lots of who
shot whom and was it a justifiable homicide). In those cases, the Court
never questions whether the ownership or use of a gun was protected. The
only question was to justifiable self defense.

The book not only discusses the court cases but takes on the arguments
of the anti-gunners.

Yes, a great debate reference. If I had my druthers, I would have this
book in CD-ROM format so that I could easily search for the wealth of
knowledge therein.
