Kudos to Altamont Grips

For Valentine's Day I ordered my wife a set of grip panels for her GP100 in ivory with scrimshawed roses from their EXTENSIVE scrimshaw list. I was notified a couple of days after ordering that they would possibly be delayed and did I want to wait, reorder, or get a refund. I chose to wait and was surprised when 3 days later got notice that they were being shipped. They arrived Wednesday and are absolutely beautiful. Wifey is delighted and said the pictures didn't do them justice. Definitely "chickified" her gun and made her smile. Nice work. Definitely will be throwing more work their way in the future. Just wanted to spread the word.

Altamont makes the grips for the Lady Smith line of revolvers. They are my favorite grips.

I like the Lady Smith look so much, even my non Lady Smith revolvers are starting to look like them.....

I ordered a set of grips from Altamont for my 1911. Excellent product and very reasonable prices. Will definitely be buying more from them.

Finally got around to taking a picture. Thought you all would like to see her girlie gun. And yes, she does shoot .357 magnum loads out of it.

They do make nice grips and those are 'rosey'. How did you get a non-fluted cylinder on a GP?

It is fluted.

Yes, it's fluted. The light is just playing tricks. Look at the bottom of the cylinder where it meets the frame. Those grips also serve a practical purpose. I also shoot a 6" GP100 with Lett grips with the original rosewood panels. When the wife had the wenge panels I made for her she used to get our guns mixed up and pick up mine about half the time. Now it's obvious which is which.

I think the word is out on the bonded ivory they make. I just received some square butt k frame bonded ivory grips from Altamont and had the same few days of backorder you had. They look and feel amazing as were worth the short wait. They now reside on a 19-4 Combat Magnum. I love the blued steel with the ivory contrasting it. I will get around to taking a picture and post it. (Just to show off I guess and to give Altamont some grins at how good their product looks when properly applied…)
