Just had to plug NAA. I was given an old NAA mini .22mag revolver that was in pretty sad shape. I looked up NAA to see if I could get some parts and was surprised to see that they had a program to replace the cylinder on older models for the new safety notch equipped cylinder free of charge. With the new cylinder it's safe to carry the little gun with rounds in all the chambers. I sent the gun to them and about two and a half weeks later it came back to me totally rebuilt. Looking at the parts list the sent with it just about everything but the frame is new although they refinished the frame so it looks new. Cost to me about $25. I was amazed at the way they take care of the guns they sell. This little pistol was made quite a few years ago and had a rough life but now it looks and shoots exactly like a new one. These little guns are beautifully made, very high quality SS work. If you ever need the ultimate last ditch super concealable revolver they are worth taking a look at. The company is definitly top drawer to work with.

Exavid, it's always nice to hear customer service stories that end like yours! It makes it easier for people considering a gun made by NAA. I don't own one of their revolvers but their customer service seems great.

I've heard time and again they have some of the best customer service on par with Ruger and Kel-Tec. A couple gentleman I know have had to send their guns in and swore they got news, except they knew the frame was the original one. If I get some extra windfall coming in the next few months maybe I'll look into their small semi-autos or one of those pocket .22s. I've got Colibri so it ought to be an interesting little snake gun.

I had looked into getting one for some time but was a little embarrased to get something so small. Then I found out that my brother, a retired policeman has been carrying the Black Widow for years. He couldn't say enough good things about it. I pick up my new Black Widow this Saturday. What impressed me was that I emailed the company and got a swift reply. I was impressed. :) This will make an ideal gun for my elderly mother who walks a lot.

That BW in 22 Mag is my normal daily carry here in Tshirt and shorts country SC.

I carry my NAA .22 mag all the time when I can't carry a bigger revolver. If I can carry something bigger,it would be my SP101 in .357.

NAA customer service

A couple years ago I bought a used NAA in .22 long rifle from one of my favorite local shops, I figured out pretty quick that the lock up was incorrect and the timing was off and the hammer was striking the cylinder right on the edge of the safety notch, I brought it back to the shop, they called NAA, got a return shipping label, and 2 and a half weeks later I got a new gun back, except it wasnt new, but it sure looked like it, the frame had been polished and the only other original part was the grips, they had even replaced the grip screw, they sure do like to send em back as nice and shiny and new looking as they can.

They replaced all the internals and springs and screws, you just dont realize how much goes into one of those tiny little guns until you get a parts list back indicating what has been replaced, which in my case was pretty much everything. Reading about another THR member having the same experience with NAA doesnt suprise me at all. I have been a fan of the NAA mini revolvers ever since I envied the first one my dad got almost 20 years ago, since 1998 I have had 4 different NAA revolvers, my dad has since gotten one for my sister and one for my mother. Accuracy is adequate for what they are intended for and the quality and customer service are outstanding, if yours does not work like it should, they really will make it as good as new, I wish all gun manufacturers had the same level of quality and service as NAA does.

I had a similar experience with a little .32. They did me right as I had bought it used and they completely redid it. Works perfectly and looks like new.

I've been thinking about one of those little guys for my wife's house/car gun. She now uses a very nice '50's vintage Smith model 30 .32 Long revolver that her deceased mother left her, but her severely crippled hands and wrists are getting progressively worse as time goes on and she is now so hyper-sensitive to any recoil that even firing the puny .32 hurts. She is also becoming very sensitive to weight so she will need a very lightweight gun in the near future. I've been wondering if the NAA Black Widow in .22 magnum has enough "kick" to hurt her hands. If it would I guess the next best would be one of the .22LR models if they make one with a longer barrel than those I have seen at the LGS. I don't have much confidence in a little .22LR slug out of a 1-1/2" bbl, but if that's all NAA makes it beats fingernails I suppose. I read somewhere that one of the CCI .22 #12 shotshells in the face at very close range usually gets an aggressors attention quite well. I would hate to blind anyone, even a BG, but hey, I'm not gonna be the one that starts the trouble.

i love my naa mini. i bought the plastic folding grip for mine directly from naa. i installed it wrong, ran a few rounds through the gun and broke the grip. called naa. the gal didn't question me. just said to send the grip back and they would either credit me the full price of the grip toward something else, or refund the price of the grip.

these guys are aces! would recomend their products to anyone.

I find the recoil of .22 magnums in a BW virtually negligible. If necessary, the recoil can be mitigated even further by going to a slightly less explosive magnum (subjectively, I feel that Winchester Dynapoints kick slightly less than CCI Maxi-Mags). And when they finally show up on store shelves, the new Hornady and Speer defensive .22 mags might add a couple of other nice options...

My only concern regarding your wife is that, due to her arthritis, she might not be able to manipulate a single-action like the BW efficiently and smoothly. Definitely have your wife cycle the cylinder a couple of times at a gun store to make sure the movement doesn't pose a problem for her hand. If they're nice, maybe they'll let her drop the hammer on a couple of snap-caps (this would have to be for one with a .22 LR cylinder).

The .22 mags bark, but they don't kick. The bite is near that of a .32ACP, so it ain't to be scoffed at as a defensive weapon, though I normally don't have to resort to it except on Sundays in church attire. I feel like I can hit what I shoot at, though. It points well and the novak sights are quite a lot better on the BW than my smaller guns.

I've heard a lot of good about NAA. I've put untold thousands through my .22LR model, though, in the 25 years I've owned it and not had a problem, never had to use the CS, not yet, anyway. Good to know that if I ever do, they're as good as the Ruger and Kel Tec folks. I've dealt with Ruger and they're fantastic.

Glad to hear this. I have been kind of casually eyeing up a one of their Pugs to fill the role of a really tiny pocket gun.
