Phew. I made it back from the past. Unfortunately the Delorian's flux capacitor was misbehaving and it took me to December 2008. It seems there was a terrible shortage back then too. Something about an election or something.

Whew. Thanks, skypirate7. I needed that.

Now for some small pistol, small rifle and large pistol...

Accurate 2495
Accurate 4064
Accurate 2460
Accurate 2520 (150+ gr bullets)
Alliant Reloder 17 (150+ gr bullets)

All in stock, all suitable for .308 Winchester. For Accurate 4064 be prepared to use IMR 4064 load data as Accurate no longer publishes it for 308.

Geez, you find some LRP in stock and suddenly you are king of the world... ;)

I don't shoot 308 bullets, I'm a 6.5mm guy myself these days, so I can't say what is the worlds best deal on 30 cal pills. Good luck finding anything surplus these days. Powder Valley sells 250 packs of Hornady 168gr Amax, a well received target bullet, for $63. At $25 per hundred thats only $3 more than I paid for my 6.5mm bullets before the rush. Natchez has a few hunting bullets left in stock as well for a couple bucks more.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to talk about how thats so much more than they paid for 147gr FMJBT's back in the mid-90's, but thats life.

These are the only .308 bullets in bulk that I could find. Not cheap though, unfortunately, since they are new and not pulled....fmj too so pretty much plinking loads.

I was lucky enough to order 1k pulled 147gr. .308 bullets from the same company right as everything went crazy, and it took a few weeks to get them to me, so you might have to wait.
I also ordered 1k .224 pulled 62gr. plinking bullets at the same time, gave them a call a few weeks ago and was told that they were on backorder for a few months so I was going to have to wait...so you might want to give them a call first just to make sure they have them in stock.

I started loading my .308 with IMR4895 and Sierra matchking 168gr bthp that I bought before everything went nuts. Might buy some of those new 147's if they really are still in stock. Good luck.

Midwayusa has a few here and there in stock but nothing I'd shell out the money for. Mostly Nosler at $30+ for boxes of 50. I've seen some in stock at local gun stores. Good luck.

Have you tried any of the small local gunshops in your area? The feeding frenzy always hits the large box store and internet sites first, but often the mom and pop stores will have plenty. Usually they won't have them out on display as some (mine included) save stock for the regulars instead of letting a one time customer buy them all. You will probably need to take some time and drive around to personally visit them and ask if they have a box or two of the bullet maker and weight you want. You could be surprised, and if they do have them, try to support them in the future. I am pretty loyal to my local gun store and in return he is loyal to me.
