My 11 now 12 year old son shot the deer on the left last year on his first deer hunt. It weighed 260lbs on the hoof, field dressed at 200lbs. I grounded him for the next 5 years for out doing his Dad:) I have never even seen a 260lb deer, and he shoots this on his very first hunt. He used a Howa 1500 in a 243, 80gr. Win. Power Point. The one on the right is my first Buck shot in 06, if field dressed at a mere 112lbs.

Ha!

Good for him.

My mother - who is a horrid golfer - hit a hole in one about a month after she first picked up a golf club. She actually didn't know where it was and dropped another ball - only discovering what she did when someone told her to look into the cup.

She hit another one 6 months later.

My dad has been playing golf for easily 50 years, and he's never come close (neither have I, fwiw)

He was shot in Jet Oklahoma on a friends land up by the Kansas border. An older gentleman told him Oklahoma Deer don't get that big, that was a Kansas Deer that got lost.

And here's the other one from last year with bigger antlers. This one from a little bit further south. 2008CarpenterBuck.jpg

I shot the one mounted a few years back. He had a massive body...weighed probably 200 pounds or more dressed. My grandfather shot the 8 and 10 pointers on either side of the mount.
