The Lautenberg amendment has annoyed me since it became law in 1996. This law stripped American Citizens of their rights, including the right to bear arms for mere misdemeanors. It is also retroactive. Finally a case challenging this travesty will go before the Supreme Court this fall.

Feel free to share this link with family and friends.

It's about DAMN time :fire:
There, I fixed it for you 71 commander ;)

I didn't think I was ever going to see good news in relation to this evil and illegal ban (that passed a REPUBLICAN congress with little or no opposition from the nra that I can remember, and "opposition" after the fact does not count).

My dispute on the law goes to the retroactive nature of the law. If he paid for the crime, then as much as I detest what he did, he has paid 'society.'

Now, ask me what we should do for domestic battery now. I suppose there was a time when beating your wife was acceptable. It never was in my home as a boy--in fact, my Dad had some choice words for the "men" who proved their worth by beating women and children.

If a man uses such poor judgement in his life to bully women and children, I feel he cannot be trusted with firearms, and the Lautenberg Act clearly applies to a 'man' like that.

BTW, 10% of the case of spousal abuse are women-on-men. Those women should also lose their firearms rights, as should anyone who harms a child, that is, if they ever get out of prison.

Where's my checkbook, that would be cheap!

Well lots of groups would like to do one. If you are serious about writting a check send one to the BFA Foundation. We would like to do a brief, but the funds are not there at the moment. We just blew the account doing a brief for Heller.

But remember for the check to go towards the lawsuits it must be made out to the Buckeye Firearms Foundation.

I want to donate to the fighting for national firearms rights, not just Ohio's rights. While Ohio is important, I'd like my funds to go toward defeating Lautenberg. How can I earmark my funds for that?

If IllHunter sends the 22k, I'll donate assistance doing legal research, editing and proofreading.

But methinks he was responding tongue-in-cheek or remarking on how surprisingly low that cost estimate is.

If BFA file an amicus brief, it would not be limited to Ohio rights. I think what gopguy is saying is that BFA is not going to bite off this project unless they know it will be adequately funded.
