LCR Range Review

Give it time. Your LCR will indeed replace the LCP.

Actually, I have had an LCP since they first came out, and I picked up the LCR about a year ago.
Having carried the LCR for about a year, I can say that it will never replace my LCP in my pocket. The LCP is so slim that it can slip into and out of pockets much easier, and creates much less bulge in the pocket. It's just a much more comfortable gun.
The LCR is a belt gun for me. I wear it OWB in a Desantis Speed Scabbard at it disappears under an untucked t-shirt. Perfect for the hot muggy summers here in CT.

To the OP: Thanks for your review and comments! :)

My Wife purchased a .38 LCR after she shot one at the range. She liked the gun but the recoil beat her up badly. So, I started loading "special" .38 Special rounds that worked fine *but* in the process and in the journey we/she discovered the Glock 42 and everything else as a carry gun (for her) is now history. Neither of us liked the LCP...it carries nice but the recoil/punishment to the shooter seems disproportionate to the advantage/power of shooting .380 acp.

Unlike the G42 which can be hot loaded to get 1000 fps+ out of 100 gr. flat noses and still have very little recoil due to the low bore axis and locked breech design. Anyway, I inherited the LCR and I personally love this revolver. I hand load for it and it works very well as a pocket gun or AIWB carried in an appropriate holster.

The trigger on the LCR is about the best double action revolver trigger I have ever used.

VooDoo

I just bought a LCR. Took it to the range, and it's more accurate than I am, and I'm more accurate with it than I expected.

If I had to complain about something, it would the the shape of the trigger. It curves way too much, and actually rubbed a blister on the side of my trigger finger from the recoil. (that was 80 rounds of mixed target wadcutters and full-power but not +P loads.) Yeah I know, I'm a wuss.

Ruger did a great job with the grips. The full-power loads were just as controllable as the wadcutters.

I need to dry fire it a few hundred more times to slick up the action, then oil it and dry fire it some more.
