I got looking at Ruger's LCR-Xs and they just look like a great idea. Cheap, under a pound in weight, and they still have full-size grips and "real" sights. Only downside is that they would pry buck hard in 38 Special. In 22 or 22 Mag though, I think they'd be just about perfect.

I don't think these are offered, but is there anything in the rumor mill about them?

The lightest one is the same weight as a Taurus 85 Ultralight. A little lighter than a S&W Airweight. (about 1 oz.)

The 85UL is not bad on recoil unless you use heavy +P. Even then it is very manageable.

If Ruger would make the 3" barrel LCRx in .22LR, I think they'd have a fantastic plinking revolver in their inventory. Adjustable sights, 8 shots, full size grip, lightweight, and weather resistant? I'd already own one.

That does sound like a good idea. I think the 3-inch LCRx is a great kit gun and I'd like to see it offered in more calibers. I've been holding out for a .357 version but rimfire versions would be great too.

I want one in .22LR and one in .327 Federal Magnum. I've got the LCR in .327 and I'd love a 3" x in that. I've got the LCRx 3" .38spl and it is my trail gun. Be nice to have the extra round and 32H&R is a great plinking round.

Same here. I'd love to see it offered in .327 or even .22 magnum. Actually, a 9mm version would be great too;)

But for a woods gun, I really like the .327. The 6 shot SP101 makes for a compact weapon that offers good defense with the .327, decent heat with the 32 H&R, and lots of plinking/small game loads in .32 S&W. I would think wadcutters would take a decent plug out of a critter without destroying too much of it. Heck, I even get good groupings with .32 acp. I don't own any other gun that allows me to pack a handful of cartridges that can fill so many roles.

I'd be all over such a versatile little package as the LCR sporting a 3" barrel and a hammer for targeted shots.

I haven't heard anything but that sounds like a good idea to me. :)

When the LCRx series were first introduced several years ago, I wrote to Ruger in reference to a passing comment a Ruger rep had made about "soon to probably be in a variety of common calibers." I was thanked for my interest in Ruger and was told there were no immediate plans for a rimfire verson in LCRx and encouraged me to look at the LCRs. If I had any interest in LCRs I'd have never written. So what'd I do? Went out and bought a S&W 617 10-shot and have pretty much forgot about Ruger. And when a Smith small revolver in .22WMR is put in front of me, I'll just grab it, too

Pistols chambered for the .327 Federal Magnum are, IMO, a great platform. Like others have said you can practice with .32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, 32 H&R Magnum and Buffalo Bore makes a .32 H&R +P that is a hoot to shoot. One of my EDC's is a LCR in .327. I feel very confident in it's ability when loaded with 115 gr. Gold Dots or the Federal 85 gr. JHP Hydra Shock. I have a 3" LCRx in .38 +P that I also occasionally carry and would buy a .327 3" LCRx the day they went on sale.
I also like the .22 mag round and had a LCR in that caliber for a while but found the rimfire trigger a little to stiff for my liking. Tried a new spring kit but could never get it right and ended up selling it to finance something else. That being said I would definitely give a .22 Mag "3 LCRx a look if Ruger decided to put one out.
