Well, after much deliberation I have decided to forego the Lee .457 round ball mould I have and bought a new Lyman .457 double ball mould. Also have purchased a lead pot and two ladles off of gunbroker as well. Does anyone know where I could find the burner that you can put on a propane tank to use as a heat source? Am hoping to find one soon :)

I'm just at the "learning phase" myself, but I have heard that a "Coleman" camp stove works very well, and the prices are hard to beat.

I use a single burner camp stove, that screws onto one of the little gas bottles, available at Walmart. I don't do a massive number of balls/slugs, but it does a pretty good job, so far.

Not sure if it would be to big for you, but i use the burner from a cheap turkey deepfrying kit for my homebrewing, it was by far the cheapest propane burner i could find for that purpose, though you might find a camping burner for less, as was mentioned

I've got a large Burner, we do a lot of crawfish and crab boiling down here in cajun country, and a camp stove that can use either propane or white gas. The camp stove is by far the best suited for lead casting. and most camp stoves can be fitted to use either the small propane bottles or the larger 5 gallon tanks. This may all seem like over kill to a lot of you, but when storm season rolls around their nice to have. The family and I had to use it all for ten days last year when Baton Rouge to a bad hit. Having them around for lead casting is just an extra bonus.

you know what i have used buffalo arms twice and i like those people they stand behind their stuff

Hello, thanks for the replies. I think the turkey version would be perfect as it resembles the one we use to pour lead joints with in the trade. And a good deal cheaper as well. Looking forward to pouring my own now ;) Thanks
