Looking for some advice on a leather gun belt. A quick google search brought in head spinning results. It's going to be my fathers birthday next month, and being a WI resident, he will now be allowed to CC. If it helps, his carry piece of choice will be OWB with a Kahr K9. Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

I had mine custom made by a local leather maker. It ran me $130 but has withstood 5 years of hard use and is still in great condition. Make sure the belt you choose is made of thick leather. Mine has a second layer of leather around the back end to prevent it from curling.

I LOVE custom leather gunbelts. Combine it with some custom leather and it is awesome, practical and great eye candy.

Having said that....%99.9999999999999999 of the time I wear a wilderness style belt. They are more comfortable and offer a better range of adjustments as the day goes along. After eating a large meal or a long night in the gym, it offers more adjustments for me. My waist tends to not stay a static measurement daily for some reason.

BigJim really makes nice and rugged leatherwork, including belts and holsters.

He made me a really heavy black 2" wide belt about 1/4" thick and a really superb IWB holster and magazine carriers for my Sig/Sauer P220 .45 Auto.

He is not fast, he is not cheap, but he is quality all the way and will bend over backwards to make everything just the way you want it! I had to send the carriers back because of my fat belly making them flop down, so he ended up making me new ones that sat more deeply inside the waist, so there is no flopping down or flopping out.

I have gun belts made by Aker, Blackhawk!, two by the Beltman, Tucker, and the Wilderness Instructor belt. Worth every penny.
