OK, I admit it: I have yet to see a weapon light that can cast a nice bright, white, homogenous beam that didn't make my wallet hurt.

So in my thus far unsuccessful quest for a bargain light suitable for mounting on (choose: sig220/saiga-12/howitzer/rpg launcher- you get the idea) whatever firearm, all the questions come up:

is it going to withstand recoil?
is the beam bright enough, not like a maglight?
etc. all the way to the big kahuna...

how much is it?

So I wonder how tought these new LED lights are? they are bright and homogenous, but is the range on them good enough even for hallway distances?
will they take recoil?

basically, has anyone tried this out?
happy holidays!

It would seam to me that recoil is what they would be good at. No filliment to break from shock etc.

I am sure they would be good for halway distance but I know they don't have the range of an incandecent.

I will let those with more experiance chime in.

A Surefire G2 shouldn't hurt the wallet to badly. I purchased 3 at $29.95 each.

An LED won't be giving you the distance and brightness you need.
