I need opinions, I have a friend who just bought a 380 and he's somewhat interested in reloading. I mentioned the Lee Loader as an inexpensive way to try out the game, afterall it's what got me started. I found one on an online auction site for $10 which seems like a good deal, but now I'm a little worried. Do these loaders work at all with autoloading pistols, or should they be kept strictly for non-auto purposes? I notice Lee still makes them for the 9mm and 45 acp.

I'm pretty sure that the .380 round is only for autos
You can get by with that setup just fine.I stared my reloading "career" with a 16 gauge Lee Loader many years ago.
You would be limited to the powders that the info page covers since you'll be using the supplied scoop for powder.Should be ok though.

Can you still find Lee Loaders in 380? I saw one on Ebay back in May, and now I'm kicking myself for not buying it.

I started out in reloading with a Lee Loader for 9MM. It worked great. I never detonated a primer, and all of the rounds went bang when they were supposed to. They all chambered properly, also. There was no case prep needed. If you can find a Lee Loader for .380 (not one listed currectly in their catalog), then go for it.
