I own a loadmaster press for 40s&w.and it works great!
I am new to rifle reloading...
Now I want to start reloading my 223 cases.
I bought a lee "O" press and the dies(including rifle charge die) and Lee Pro Auto-Disk Powder Measure.
Will it work? how do I use a disk charge that gives 24 grains of powder to my 223 cases?
tks.

Depends on the powder ... they do differ in density and type (flake, extruded, ball and some in-betweens) ... you need to find a cavity that drops what you want. If none do it exactly, you can 'trickle-up' or grind on a cavity a little to open it up.

I don't know what die set you bought but if you are loading for an auto loader ( AR15 ) then you will want to FL size. The rifle charging die and pro auto disk measure will work fine, I use them on a classic turret for loading 223. As mentioned already you will want to buy the double disk kit and when you stack the disk's if the holes are different sizes the small hole has to go in the top disk. You will also need case lube and some way to trim the cases that are too long. I use the Lee trimmer, works great in a cordless drill. If the cases are military then you will have to swage or ream the primer pockets if they haven't been already.

Edit: If you haven't bought your powder yet I use W748 and H335 and am very happy with both powders. Both powders meter great in the pro auto disk.

You will need the Lee Double Disk kit. I use one for my .223 reloading, as well as my .40s&w (coincidently the only two calibers I reload) and it works like a charm.

You will also need a universal rifle charging die.

I already have the rifle charging die, what about that double disk kit? doesn't it came with my loadmaster?
tks

I doubt it. I dont know anything about the loadmaster, but the double disk kit is essentially another set of disks identical to that which came with your Pro auto-disk powder measure (so you have two of each disk), longer screws, and spacers so you can stack two disks ontop of on another, underneath the powder hopper. This allows you to tune your powder charge, and also increase the amount, to that of what a rifle case needs.

My loadmaster came with four disks but i did have to buy a set of longer screws ( take your brass nut to hardware store) for dia.
my press came set up for 9mm so i had to buy the rifle charge die... as stated above

You can choose a powder that will drop a full charge in a large disc.
BL(c)2 or H335, Win 748 & Win 760/H414, for example, you can get around 24 grains with the largest orifice in the "D" disk. I load .223 with this combo and H335 in Lake City brass with a 55-gr bullet.

If you can't get exactly what you want with a factory disk, a little careful reaming of a disk will get you a bit more powder.

Lee doesn't include either the double-disk or the micro-disk setups with the Pro Auto Disk (or the regular Auto Disk for that matter). They need to be purchased separately, but only if you need them. Both work well for their intended purpose.

I think .308 Win is about the largest case you can fill with one pull of the handle with the double-disks, but I may be mistaken about that. I know that my preferred load of IMR 4350 in the .30-06 is larger than the biggest combo possible with the double-disks if thrown with one pull.

I find that H335 drops very consistantly in the Pro Auto Disk.

I double stack...

make sure you read Lee's guidlines for double stacking.... the smaller disk goes on top (to avoid creating a powder shelf)
