Does anyone know where I could find info on this model shotgun to tell me exactly what I have. It's stamped Lefever Arms co on otherwise plain side plates with minimally checkered fore-stock, appears to be a 12gauge, has no chokes as it was cut down by previous owner, is in not so great shape with minimal rust and more than average bluing wear and is missing the buttstock. What I take to be serial numbers all match, and I'm thinking are 15937 or 159337 but I don't remember for sure and don't have it sitting in front of me right now to check as I'm at school and that's a BIG NO NO.
Any info on date of manufacture or where to find such, as well as a break down schematic or diagram would also be greatly appreciated as would any info on where I could get a replacement buttstock for a less than princely sum. Thanks, james.

LeFever prices are all over, but yours isn't at the top. See other Lefever thread.

"Uncle" Dan LeFever started up several companies with his name in them, and consulted for others, including Fox. Some shotguns with his name on them are worth much more than others. Some were made with Damascus barrels, and thus not suited for modern ammo.

No LeFever with bobbed barrels is worth a lot of money. Numrich may have a stock that fits yours, or Wenig.

If the barrels are longer than 22" or so,and made from real steel, it may be worthwhile to have them bored for choke tubes.

HTH....

I ain't worried about collector value, I just want to get the thing into something close to serviceable condition.
