Funny that we are talking about this in another thread. How LEOs got their rights but dont seem to support ours or openly campaign against us.
I hate to say it, but I will. LEO associations are too heavily influenced by politics and not common sense due to todays political environment. Especially when you get far up the ladder and a daily duty of your LEO is dealing with political pundits in the justice system.
Unfortunately, this puts the LEO organizations, typically, on the side of the politicians for job security purposes, creating the US vs THEM scenario. Us as in common serfs, and them as in politicians and what not, with rules that they insist we live by, but exempt themselves from personally.
Think about social security for a moment as an analogy. The people administrating and determining the long term direction of the system don't mind how f**ked up the system is because they know they'll never have to participate in it and their retirement plan became solidified the day they became a US congress critter or what have you.
Now, I don't think LEOs are exempt in the retirement angle such as congress critters, nor are they exempt from paying social security. But when you are exempt from the rules being made, you have a tendency not to give a sh** how things turn out since you won't be having to follow those rules anyway.
The saying is Liberty and justice for all, not liberty and justice for the elites, screw the serfs. But more and more, it's turning into the latter.
LEOs, I mean no disrespect to anyone personally, for this is a political issue.
