For decades we having been using the wrong tactics, its time to learn from the Prohibition era and utilize human nature. We must actively work to FORCE firearms registration for ALL firearms including pellet and BB guns. Only "sporting" firearms with a magazine capacity of 3 rounds or less and an over-all length of 36 inches (or more)will be permitted to be imported or manufactured in this country.

All privately owned firearms will be ("grandfathered in") permitted after registration but must be kept in a disassembled condition or secured in a gun vault at any registered public shooting range. The transfer of any firearm is illegal, proper disposal/sale will consist of a government "buy back" program (fair market price). Transportation of firearms and ammunition using federally funded roads is illegal. Private ownership of ammunition is limited to 6 rounds of ammunition per firearm and each round must be serial numbered and match the consuming firearm.

Posession of ANY firearm or ammunition on Federal lands is illegal (except for law enforcement and military personnel). To fund this "prohibition" each citizen will be required to purchase an annual permit of not more than $50 per firearm. Firearms may NOT be passed-on to the next of kin but must be surrendered to the proper authorities within 30 days (of original owner's death) for disposal.

Only by adopting these harsh methods can we hope to gain the pro-gun support of the fence sitters, the "common man", and some anti-gunners. As happened with the first prohibition (banning alcohol), will we enjoy decades of firearms freedom. Main stream America will fight (non-violent) this ban if for no other reason than they are being "refused" something they had taken for granted. Firearms will become much more popular with the public (just like illegal alcohol did) and the future of the Second Amendment will be insured for decades to come. What better gift can we give our children? We can lose a little at a time as we have been or we can "force" the issue while people still know and care what they could be losing!

Fair enough, I guess, once you get past the bodies of those who refused to comply. And, hopefully, the full dressed funerals of those who forced the point.
I hope the latter to the former run at 2:1, but unit equality would be OK, I think.

Still, what is the "fair market value" of an illegal, but highly desired, illegal firearm?

While at BU in the '70's, I thought that their outlawing of handguns (in MA) was a great idea: do you have any idea of how much I could have sold my easily replaced handguns (I lived in RI at the time) for?

Do you believe firearms have the same size base of support (crossing socio-economic boundries) that alcohol had? :uhoh:

Why stop there?

If you're gonna do it, do it right.

Suspend the Constitution, impose martial law, nationalize all industry and make everyone a government employee.
Open "re-education camps" nation-wide as "work will set you free" for any who protest the new order.

Or have we already done that, in bits and pieces?

All we need is the right leader, someone with a golden tongue and the proper vision and mindset.

Where-ever can we find her?

Adios

Yeah right, put the fox in charge of the hen house until the fence sitters come in and save us!?!?!? If a person hasn't grown a brain and a backbone until then, what makes you think they would??

Or how about this:

Why not wait until the FSP moves to NH. After we see the bill might pass, we then try to pass a state constitutional amendment specifically designating all non-felon citizens of 18 years, as members of the state militia, and have all responsibilities and rights including but not limited to: the ability to own any weapon that fires non-explosive projectiles.

They say the 2nd only applies to state militia. So I say lets make them see that we are state militia.
