So far so good....

attachment.php

This from the first outing with my Varmint AR build....

22" Wilson Arms bull barrel, 1-8 twist, 5.56 chamber

I need to set up a proper bipod or rest, as this was shot off a rickety wood stand.

What is this voodoo you speak of!?!??

A v-max with a cannelure?

Wow... when did this happen?

I love V-Max but I have always been worried about setback on a rifle upper AR as the nose sometimes grabs the ramp. (Doesn't seem to happen as often with carbine uppers but on those I've had noses get bent on chambering)

Midway has the 55 gr Vmax with cannelure

they used to offer these with a slime green tip and call them Z-max (Z is for zombie) but I suspect they dropped that line after they got all kinds of flack about it from those elements of the shooting sports community with no sense of humor.

I actually load this bullet for a 1 in 9 16" middy, but wanted to test them in the new barrel.

I'll be pumping the 69 gr SMK through this new AR build next. Then I'd like to try the 75 gr. flavor.

I use the V-max in my AR. The 55gr shoots very well for me. My gun is 1:9 twist 20" and I've gotten a few 1/2 three shot mini groups. Shooter malfunction creeps in when I shoot 5 rounds! :D :cuss: Just seems like I can't keep my head right...the group opens every time!
