this is maybe gonna sound mystic.
i get the most from a handgun when it fells like part of my arm.
so, when i get a new gun, i work with it mostly, til i get that feeling.
i'm a slow learner so this may take 4.000 rounds.
the thing is, once it feels like part of my arm, it wil always feel like part of my arm, even if i've been working with other guns for a while.
for me, this optimizes both accuracy n speed.

thanks guys! over 20 years ago i started with pistols, 1911s. then ventured in revolvers, shot gun, rimfire rifles and now ARs. I can the only range 2x per month. keeping an inventory of 1000 rounds per caliber takes up a lot of room and is pricely, according to my wife, and trying to keep up skills in each is tough.

Dry-fire doesn't cost a thing. And skills learned/maintained with a .22 translate over quite well to other platforms. These are my main 'tight-budget' tools, not that you have to be on a tight budget for them to be effective.
