Does anyone have a good source for the wood and hardware for my heavy barreled SHT. Lee Enfield. The receiver and barrel are in good shape but the bedding surfaces are shot and the stock is cracked at the action mount screw. My Aussie needs help. I would like to restore this one if possible.

Believe it or not, I've had good luck finding Enfield wood on ebay. Make sure to broaden your search internationally since a lot of it is in the UK, Australia, etc.

I hope you know the specific procedures for installing new wood on the SMLE action. This can be tricky.

Good forearm and top wood for the SMLE is difficult to find. Lithgows stocked with Coachwood are known for cracking. You might be better off getting some "Acra-Glas" from Brownells and glueing it all back together. I did my '43 Lithgow several years ago and it shoots great ever since. There is a lot of good info on bedding and repairing No1 MkIII* forearms on the net. Real as much as you can before you start.

My Problem is that the bedding surface at the rear and at the action mounting screw are tore out and partially missing. I think it would be quite a chore to repair!
