The best thing I saw in this whole thread was "join the Texas State Rifle Association"!!! If you live in Texas and aren't a member, you're a........a...... well, you know........ And keep up with the current legislation.

Um... yeah.
Thing is, you could get birdshot and still do just fine at 30 feet. Either WILL most likely penetrate the walls. If you are really concerned about that get some frangible ammo for your pistol and stop worrying about over penetration.
