I did a search for this and got no hits, so I'm posting it. Enjoy.

---------------------

There was a path all neatly trimmed that ran straight through the wood,
And on this long and winding way a lovely maiden stood,
Her face was fresh as morning dew, her hair was deep rich red,
And nowhere was a finer lass, or so it had been said.

She came across an old post sign, it pointed off this way,
But when the last time she had come that’s not what it did say.
She heaved a sigh and looked around, she wouldn’t wait about,
And in a huff of tangled fur the Big Bad Wolf jumped out.

“Ah ha!” He shouted triumphantly, “I’ve got you now at last!
For though you’ve often tricked me, your time, it now has passed!
“I’ve changed the signs to Grandma’s house,” Wolf said with chuckled glee,
“But more than that, I’ve set a trap from which you cannot flee!

“While I was hiding in this bush a'waiting for the fun,
I set my cousins up the path in case that you should run,
And now that you are in my grasp we’ll gobble you right up,
And make our way to Grandma’s house to finish with our sup.”

Red looked up at the smiling wolf and heaved another sigh,
For years this creep had bothered her--what was it with this guy?
And so into her basket lid she slid her fine-boned hand,
And when her fist came out again in shock the wolf did stand.

There was a mighty roaring crash, the wolf, he fell down slain,
His cousins fled in panic lest she shoot them through their brain!
The young girl slowly shook her head, and set back on her way,
It seems that Red and Grandma both had joined the NRA.

Bah, it's derivative of the classic James Thurber story:

The Little Girl and the Wolf
by James Thurber

One afternoon a big wolf waited in a dark forest for a little girl to come along carrying a basket of food to her grandmother. Finally a little girl did come along and she was carrying a basket of food. "Are you carrying that basket to your grandmother?" asked the wolf. The little girl said yes, she was. So the wolf asked her where her grandmother lived and the little girl told him and he disappeared into the wood.

When the little girl opened the door of her grandmother's house she saw that there was somebody in bed with a nightcap and nightgown on. She had approached no nearer than twenty-five feet from the bed when she saw that it was not her grandmother but the wolf, for even in a nightcap a wolf does not look any more like your grandmother than the Metro-Goldwyn lion looks like Calvin Coolidge. So the little girl took an automatic out of her basket and shot the wolf dead.

(Moral: It is not so easy to fool little girls nowadays as it used to be.)
